Requirement #2: Education or Work Experience
Each DV applicant must meet one of the following educational or work experience criteria:
- Education: You must have at least a high school education or its equivalent, meaning successful completion of a 12-year formal education course covering elementary and secondary schooling.
OR
- Work Experience: You must have at least two years of work experience within the last five years in an occupation that requires a minimum of two years of training or experience to perform. The U.S. Department of State uses the U.S. U.S. Department of Labor’s O*Net Online database to assess qualifying work experience.

The online registration period for the DV-2026 Program will be as follows:

12:00 noon Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) (GMT-4) - End Date and Time: Tuesday, November 7, 2024
12:00 noon Eastern Standard Time (EST) (GMT-5)

3. Submit your application before the deadline.
Diversity Visa Application Fees
If you are selected as a Diversity Visa (DV) program selectee, you will be required to pay the following fees as part of your visa application process:
Diversity Visa Lottery Application Fee: $330.00 per person applying for a DV category immigrant visa.
Affidavit of Support Review Fee (only applicable if reviewed within the U.S.): $120.00.
